President Obama, the Troops, and a War of Choice

What the President said, was not for the benefit of the troops that are now deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Barack Obama needs a history lesson in the religion of Islam.

Is Islam a tolerant religion?

Listen, Islam does not mean peace. Islam only means peace to Muslims who blindly submit. To Christians Islam means war, persecution and death.

The Qur'an says: "Fight and slay the pagans [Christians] wherever ye find them and seize them, confine them, and lie in wait for them in every place of ambush" (Surah 9:5)

Why is this not being addressed by the news media? President Barack Obama is naive to think that people who blindly follow the Qur'an is our friend and mean us no harm. Obama's speech was broadcasting live by many networks around the world . . . . "as-Salam-u’Alaikum."

A traditional greeting in Arabic is "as-Salam-u’Alaikum." This means "Peace be upon you." Notice that it is not Islam, but Salam.

Nevertheless, don’t be misled by claims that Islam means peace. It means submission (Wikipedia). Islam has always been a religion of violence.

Here is what the Malise Ruthven, a Scottish writer and historian wrote in 1984, p 28-48.

"If imitatio Christi meant renouncing worldly ambition and seeking salvation by deeds of private virtue, imitatio Muhanunadi meant sooner or later taking up arms against those forces which seemed to threaten Islam from within or without."

A Quotation from the Koran:

2:190-193 Fight in the cause of God, those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out: For tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the sacred Mosque unless they first fight you there; But if they fight you, Slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression."

The Koran commands the killing of Christians! Christians follow the example of Jesus and turn the other Cheek. Muslims follow the example of Muhammad and murder.

Words of a Muslim leader:

"Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those people are witless. Islam says: 'Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!' Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by the infidel? Islam says: 'Kill them, put them to the sword and scatter them.' Islam says: 'Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword.' The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors! Does all this mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim." (Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini)

When the Danish cartoon controversy arose, the editors said it would be wrong to reprint the cartoons because responsible and civilized news organizations must "refrain from gratuitous assaults on religious symbols." Christians were quick to point out the hypocrisy of the paper, since New York Times had printed a full colour piece of "artwork" where the Virgin Mary was covered in elephant dung in 1999 and another piece: a crucifix inside a jar of the artists own urine.
